Retailbound Launches “Retail Star Search 2012” Contest

This Memorial Day weekend, hundreds of thousands of people are at their favorite retailers getting ready to start the summer season. While retailers are thankful for the Memorial Day weekend, 2012 has been a very tough year for most of them. From small independent stores to Best Buy, getting customers to spend money in their stores has been a very difficult task.

“The Retail Star Search 2012 Contest allows anyone in the United States to submit a video online pitching his or her invention or product,” Regina Voyles, Director of Marketing at Retailbound, said in a press release. The products will be voted on by the public (by the number of likes) as well as from a panel of experts from Retailbound. Three lucky winners will have their products presented to retailers this summer.

“We know there are some great undiscovered products that have not yet reached the retail buyer’s desk,” Voyles said. “For a long time, the ability to get a product into a retailer was at the sole discretion of the retail store buyer. Today, we are removing these barriers by giving anyone a chance to get their product presented to retailers with the potential of reaching millions of shoppers nationwide.”

Retailbound is accepting submissions until June 15th at midnight. The winners list will be posted on June 30, 2012 at http://www.retailbound.com.

Entrepreneurs, inventors, and small manufacturers can go to http://www.YouTube.com and enter the key word search “Retail Star Search 2012” to find the video clip in order to enter. Contestants post a video response with their product idea to the Retail Star Search 2012 clip and then go to http://www.retailbound.com/contact-us.html to submit their name, product idea, and contact details.
