X Prize Founder Aims to Fix Education

The Next X Factor Prize Announced Today

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) May 27, 2012

Diamandis is the man whose X Prizes have sparked innovative ideas and breakthroughs in space travel, oil-spill clean ups and now he is tackling education. Today, while at the Superhero You conference in San Diego, CA, Diamandis will make the much anticipated announcement of the X Prize for transforming education in the U.S

The announcement comes just after he speaks to the by-invitation-only audience where his message will be streamed to over 1,000 people who are tuning in throughout 60 countries.

“I am excited to make the much anticipated announcement at the Superhero You conference which is all about accelerating the brain and improving innovation through advanced learning techniques,” said Diamandis.

Last year, Diamandis announced a contest to build a medical diagnosis device that can size up people’s health more accurately than a panel of internists, without requiring users to be anywhere near a hospital or doctor’s office. That $10 million award, known as the Qualcomm Tricorder X Prize, is patterned after an imaginary invention on the old television show “Star Trek,” called the Tricorder.
