DotNetNuke module developer, PackFlash, has just released an new version of their DNN Slideshow Module, which provides the ability to create dynamic presentations of content on the website. This new version of the Slideshow module has the capability to tie 2 or more websites together and provide slideshows of content between those sites.

When content from other websites are shown, they are represented as if they belong to the current site. The user is not forced to switch sites as they would be if the content sharing was accomplished via RSS feeds. This is a much better experience for the user. Appropriate controls are provided so that content administrators can determine criteria for what content is used from which websites. One application of this feature is for a business that creates micro-sites for each category and another that includes all of the categories. PackFlash’s DNN Slideshow module makes this type of implementation possible.

While the PackFlash DNN Slideshow module can be purchased on its own, it also exists as part of the Constellation suite of modules. Constellation is a combination of eight DotNetNuke modules that are bundled together, and which are integrated in a way that is unique in the world of DNN. The suite includes Image Gallery, Slideshow, Friendly URLs, Mega Drop-Down Menu, Comments, Videos, Events, and News & Blog Module for DotNetNuke. The Slideshow module’s purpose within the suite is to provide presentation capabilities that highlight content and keep the user engaged.

The Slideshow Module, one of PackFlash’s newest products, is uniquely versatile for a slideshow module. The administrator has the flexibility to choose that the entire slideshow can be made up of content from the current website that is being managed, any website that has been connected, or each slide can be managed separately allowing content from one slide to come from any of the sites that are connected.

Version 3.2 of the PackFlash Constellation DNN Modules also offers an important upgrade to the Friendly URLs Module for DotNetNuke to support multi-site portal data sharing. The SEO Module does this by automatically detecting duplicate content, even across shared websites, and providing management through the use of canonical meta tags. Owners of web sites don’t have to worry about getting penalized by search engines because of they are sharing content across their sites.
