Butler's new daylighting system reduces electric lighting costs up to 70%

Butler Manufacturing has introduced SunLite Strip™, a daylighting system that is proven to reduce lighting costs, which is the largest non-salary expense that building owners face. The secret lies in the prismatic design and smart sensors that reduce interior lighting during peak daylight hours.

Prismatic design creates the effect of passing ordinary sunlight through 4,000 mirrors per square foot, providing 100% diffused light even in overcast conditions. But due to the SunLite Strip System’s patented dome design, the panels pull in more light earlier and later in the day, giving the smart sensors more light to work with as they reduce electrical output accordingly.

The SunLite Strip Daylighting System is designed to work in conjunction with Butler’s MR-24® roof system, which is used by more commercial and industrial buildings than any other standing seam metal roof. It can be installed during new construction or retrofit into an existing roof.

Other notable features of the SunLite Strip System include:

-- Engineered to float free of the structure to allow for thermal expansion and contraction

-- Patent-pending curbless design makes installation three times faster than traditional skylights, reducing installation labor costs

-- Requires 85% fewer fasteners in the drainage plane

-- Strip design can reduce the number of roof penetrations by 30%

-- 20-year limited warranty
