NYSTAR Approves HyGie-Tech USA for CCNI Supercomputer Use

The Science, Technology and Innovation Division (NYSTAR) of New York’s chief economic development agency has named HyGie-Tech USA an approved user of the Computational Center for Nanotechnology Innovations (CCNI) supercomputer at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and the RPI Technology Park in Troy, NY. “NYSTAR’s programs help companies leverage their technology strengths and create jobs,” explained HyGie-Tech USA CEO Robert L. Domenici. “CCNI supports research in fields such as ours where supercomputing can expand understanding.”

HyGie-Tech USA, Inc. (Albany, NY) provides particle and airflow modeling software and services that use HG_Flow technology, a high-performance risk-oriented CFD (roCFD) system, to support the protection of critical infrastructure against airborne contamination. By applying specialized routines, algorithms, and a database of 13,000 potentially harmful agents to data acquired from a 3D laser scanner or digitized drawings, HG_Flow creates highly-accurate models of airflow and particle movement within the scanned environment. The software’s high-speed calculations do not require a supercomputer, but will utilize the CCNI machine for research and development.
