StatSoft, Inc. announces a public webcast titled “University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Improves Quality of Care Using STATISTICA for Text and Data Mining.” Dr. Scott Zasadil, Chief Scientist at UPMC Health Plan’s Division of Health Economics, will lead the webcast. Dr. Zasadil plans to cover UPMC’s use of data mining and text mining to identify opportunities for improved quality of care. The webcast is scheduled for June 19, 2012, at 12PM Eastern (9AM Pacific Time). Registration is required.

Dr. Zasadil plans to present a case study of STATISTICA's applications at UPMC, including:

  • how and why UPMC selected certain predictive analytics methods
  • how UPMC applies STATISTICA Text Miner to its provider notes
  • how STATISTICA Data Miner enables identity of root causes and patterns in patient readmissions
  • evaluation of his experience with STATISTICA, e.g., ease of use, key advantages, etc.
