Enrollment Builders’ founder, Cam Cruickshank, Ph.D, will be speaking at the 2012 Distance Learning Administration Conference (DLA) at the University of West Georgia. The conference will be held in Jekyll Island, Georgia on June 3-6, 2012, and is specifically designed for those involved or interested in the administration, management, planning and evaluation of distance learning programs.
Dr. Cruickshank’s presentation, “Building a Highly Scaled Online Operation” will focus on those institutions that are experiencing tremendous growth in their online programs or would like to be able to do so. He will also discuss how building a highly scaled online operation requires specialized skills in marketing, recruitment operations, academic operations and student services. He will identify the key functions that need to be built for scale and some strategies to achieve operational efficiency.
“I am very much looking forward to presenting at the DLA conference. I have heard great things about DLA and I am honored to be considered as someone that can add to the larger discussion of how to better distance education,” said Dr. Cruickshank..
According to the 2011 Babson Survey Research Group Report, Going the Distance: Online Education in the United States, about 6.1 million students were taking at least one online course in the fall term of 2010. This was an increase of over 560,000 over the previous year. The total number of online learners at that time represented 31 percent of all higher education students.
