Bach, Switzerland (PRWEB) May 30, 2012
The Prospero Foundation, founded by Ulrik DeBo of DeBondo Capital, is proud to announce that a micro-loan donation has been made to a Columbian Pastry Chef.
Merly, 43, is married with three children between the ages of 17 and 24. She lives in the city of Cartagena, where she has a bakery/pastry shop selling a variety of breads, puddings and desserts.
She has worked for several bakeries and taken courses to develop the technical skills she learned in the academy. Merly currently provides refreshments to schools in her local community, as well as children's homes where kids are cared for by substitute mothers as part of the national children’s protection services. She makes sales daily, but generously grants credit terms of 30 to 45 days. This form of selling causes great challenges to her cash flow, hindering her ability to serve the community.
Merly requires this loan, her first request for financing with Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, to buy raw materials and supplies to carry her over while her customer credits are repaid. Her investment will be successful because not only she will meet her usual demand, she will have resources to stock her business and meet demand from new customers.
About Micro-lending with The Prospero Foundation
Through partnerships with local lending institutions, the Prospero Foundation contributes capital for the purpose of small business loans to these micro-entrepreneurs in developing nations. Through these partnerships, the Foundation helps small business people such as farmers, shopkeepers, and artisans build their businesses and in turn stimulate economic development in their communities.
About The Prospero Foundation
The Prospero Foundation is a private, international charitable foundation founded by Ulrik DeBo. Mr. DeBo, a lifelong entrepreneur, whose upbringing and eventual success in the finance industry, through his company DeBondo Capital Ltd, gave him the relevant experience and insight required.
The foundation is run by a global network of entrepreneurs, who raise funds privately amongst their business contacts, and choose to invest them using a 'pay-it-forward' philosophy to focus on charitable projects that promise to perpetuate a chain reaction of positive growth opportunities for individuals and local communities for generations to come.
