WorkSimple - Social Performance

WorkSimple’s Personal Edition allows any working professional, including software developers, to manage what they do well through a visual storyboard of goals, accomplishments, endorsements, and more.

WorkSimple (, the social performance platform that helps individuals, teams, and large organizations set focuses, share social goals, get feedback, and boost results, is changing the way software developers manage their careers through its newly released Personal Edition. The Personal Edition, which is currently in limited release, helps these professionals manage their accomplishments and advance their careers with a platform that’s as easy to use as their favorite social network.

In the past, showing off your accomplishments by way of a personal portfolio was a something only artists or designers could do with platforms like Behance or Carbonmade. Now, WorkSimple’s Personal Edition allows any working professional, including software developers, to manage what they do well through a visual storyboard of goals, accomplishments, endorsements, and more.

“Writing code, like many other professions, can be hard to translate to the everyday person if they’re not in the industry themselves,” said Morgan Norman, co-founder and CEO of WorkSimple. “Github is great for sharing your abilities with other programmers. But how do you communicate your accomplishments beyond a technical audience? Having a visual portfolio that goes beyond a standard resume can help developers show what they’ve developed, what they’re working on, and ultimately share their complete professional story with others.”

Here’s how it works: Steve, an Associate Director of Software Development at Company XYZ, signs up for an individual account. Through WorkSimple’s Personal Edition, he can create goals or milestones he wants to achieve this month. Steve can add attachments and other assets that demonstrate his accomplishments. The Vice President of Software Development, as well as his co-workers and managers, can give him real-time feedback, endorsements, and even “likes” regarding his progress. Steve can also keep track of all his goals -- as well as show off his programming accomplishments -- through reports, which can be generated whenever he wants.

In addition, software professionals can use analytics on the Personal Edition to see who’s checking out their work and who’s giving them feedback, as well as showcase their accomplishments externally through LinkedIn. This can be particularly helpful if Steve decides to leave Company XYZ to look for programming opportunities elsewhere. The combination of all of these features can help professionals like Steve to build their professional brand in the programming industry and shape them as software developers.

“As a UX Designer, I know how difficult it can be to translate what I’ve done to a platform that not only shows off my accomplishments, but does so in a visually appealing way without all the industry noise or jargon, ” said Justin Peddycoart, UX Designer for WorkSimple. “WorkSimple’s Personal Edition allows anyone in the programming space to create a portfolio of accomplishments and get the feedback and recognition they deserve, which is something traditional portfolio platforms just don’t do.”
