Stratford, CT (PRWEB) May 31, 2012
Encon, the region’s leading provider of solar energy systems, recently unveiled their own solar project, a 100kW solar system on their corporate headquarters in Stratford, Connecticut.
Bill Valus, Co-Owner of Encon stated: “Our entire organization is excited about this project. We truly believe that responsible business owners and homeowners should be considering solar energy. It’s the right thing to do. There are tremendous environmental benefits and it also makes financial sense. We even have options for systems to be installed with no money down that provide immediate savings on energy expenses. That’s really a no-brainer.”
Encon installed 407 Siliken solar panels on its headquarters’ roof. The system has the capacity to generate enough energy to power 16 homes for a year. It will offset approximately 30% of Encon’s electrical usage annually.
Encon recently had the Mayor of Stratford and his economic development team tour their facility and see a solar array in person. Encon Co-Owner, Chris Douglas stated: “We were honored to have Mayor Harkin, Paul Timpanelli - the CEO Of the Greater Bridgeport Business Council and Karen Kaiser - head of Economic Development for the town visit our facility. It was a terrific opportunity to show the leadership of this community the possibilities of solar power generation. Even on a cloudy day the system was operating at 33% capacity, saving us money and lowering our carbon footprint. And with state and federal incentives it makes it viable for everyone to generate their own power.”
