Purcellville, VA (PRWEB) May 31, 2012
Employment screening company, Proforma Screening Solutions, announces a complementary two-part webinar series for HR and risk management professionals. Taking place on June 12 and June 19, 2012 the series will address the triple threat of EEOC and FTC regulation, state and federal legislation, and private party litigation in the context of corporate employment background screening programs.
The series will be presented by Vince Pascarella, Esq., SPHR, FCRA, and Vice President of Proforma Screening Solutions. Pascarella is a former co-chair of the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS) Best Practices and Compliance Committee, HRCI-certified Senior Professional in Human Resources, and frequent speaker on human capital risk management topics.
The webinars take place in the wake of a highly anticipated recently updated Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) Enforcement Guidance on the Consideration of Arrest and Conviction Records in Employment Decisions Under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The Guidance, combined with recent FTC legal compliance enforcement activity, and highly publicized state and federal regulatory changes to an employer’s legal use of certain background checks means the webinars will be particularly timely and relevant for employers and risk managers.
The informative series will offer a detailed summary of the recently issued EEOC Enforcement Guidance and how the Guidance impacts an organization’s employment screening program. It will also discuss recent FTC enforcement activity, along with state and federal regulatory and legislative changes to an employer’s legal use of credit report, criminal record, and social media background checks. Finally, the series will look at private litigation and class action lawsuits being brought against employers relating to their employment background screening practices.
The program has been approved for 2.25 (General) recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute – 1.25 credit hours for Part 1 and 1 credit hour for Part 2.
Part 1 of the two-part series takes place on June 12, 2012 at 1:30EST. Part 2 will be held on June 19, 2012 at 1:30EST. The webinars are free to attend but space is limited so attendees are encouraged to register early.
