The ultimate creative duo with a whole new entertainment concept!
London (PRWEB UK) 31 May 2012
In October 2011, the prospect of two young Cambridge graduates painting their faces for money would have been ludicrous. Now, just eight months later, the notion is not so unusual. Ross Harper and Ed Moyse (22) began BuyMyFace.com as a quirky way of paying off their student debt in a time where graduate unemployment is at its highest. Their novel approach to marketing has since gathered support worldwide, and with thousands of website hits a day, BuyMyFace.com has certainly consolidated a place amongst similar ventures in Internet history. The boys have now decided that it’s time to try their hand at a new area of the technology world – app development.
“Right now, smartphone applications are where it’s at! The industry is booming, and there are great opportunities for young, creative minds to make a big impact.” (Ross Harper)
“BuyMyFace.com no longer requires one-hundred percent of our time, so we thought we’d get started on a brand new project. We’re going to use everything we’ve learnt from Buy My Face to make sure this app is something to be proud of.” (Ed Moyse)
To get their app in production, Ross and Ed are teaming up with an app development agency called Turned On Digital. This UK-based team of developers was established in 2009 and has already worked with a range of high profile clients including ITN and Channel 4. Examples of previous work by Turned On Digital can be seen in colourDNA and Sunday Drive, both of which are currently available on the iPhone app store.
"At Turned on Digital we love developing apps for fresh startups with something different to say. To have a winning app, we believe we need an awesome idea, passion and an incredible hunger to knock down barriers whatever and wherever they are. So we couldn't be more excited to develop an app for the guys behind 'Buy My Face'. The ultimate creative duo with a whole new entertainment concept!" (Mia Bennett, CEO, Turned On Digital)
“We’re very much looking forward to working with Turned On Digital. They came highly recommended and have produced some really polished apps.” (Ross Harper)
“We’ve always been told to know where our strengths lie. BuyMyFace.com has given us some real marketing credibility, and we’ve never been short for ideas. However, the app itself needs to be perfect, and the people who are going to make that happen are Turned On Digital.” (Ed Moyse)
With more and more people using smartphones, there is a now the potential for the success of online games between these devices. Ross and Ed hope to combine their new idea with their existing fun attitude towards work to produce the next big app on the market.
