Avectra, a leading web-based Social CRM provider for associations and not-for-profits, today announced that Avectra executives will participate in the inaugural AFP TechKnow Conference. The conference is scheduled for June 4-5, 2012, in Orlando, FL.

“AFP TechKnow does a wonderful job educating fundraising professionals, and we’re glad to be a part of the first AFP TechKnow Conference,” said Richard Davis, chairman and CEO of Avectra, which is a supporting sponsor of the event. “Connecting technology and strategy is central to Avectra’s mission so we’re eager to share our fundraising expertise while hearing about what challenges these professionals face. We like to tackle such challenges and come back with creative solutions.”

The AFP TechKnow Conference is an interactive learning experience designed to connect not-for-profit fundraising and management professionals with leading-edge information and effective practices in using technology to accomplish their organizations’ missions. The conference will position interactive websites and social media as core elements in today’s development mix via two areas of session emphasis: strategy and technology. It will feature opportunities for learning, networking, and exhibiting.

On Monday June 4, at 11:15 a.m., AvectraLabs president Sterling Raphael will discuss “A New Era in Fundraising” in a Learning Lab on the exhibit hall floor. Some leading nonprofit organizations successfully leverage strategies from social commerce, crowd funding, gamification, location-based apps, social CRM, niche communities, and Pinterest, while many are still struggling to figure out Facebook. It's time to stop taking baby steps into this new era and recognize a fundamental shift in both the culture and the technology that organizations need to maximize and sustain their value and relevance.

On Monday, June 4, at 1:15 p.m., Avectra’s John Clese will speak in an Educational Session on the topic “Business Intelligence Gets Social.” Clese will discuss how social organizations are scoring the likelihood of a given donor to renew their support, discovering emerging or trending interests in their constituents, benchmarking in new ways and automating processes built on social business intelligence.

On Tuesday, June 5, at 8:30 a.m., Penelope Burk of Cygnus Applied Research will host an Educational Session, “What’s in a number?… only everything! … how the best fundraisers use data to drive profit.”

Today’s fundraising practices and beliefs were developed at a time when donors were less demanding, competition was less severe, and fundraisers could rely on an unlimited supply of people willing to give. But as wealth shifts to a more independently-minded donor, one who is more questioning and harder to reach, fundraisers need to know what donors want and how to provide it. Donor-Centered Fundraising is Burk’s breakthrough strategy that sustains donor loyalty and raises more generous gifts by bringing fundraising in line with donors’ modern-day requirements.

On Tuesday, June 5, at 11:00 a.m., John Clese once again hosts "Business Intelligence Gets Social". At 11:45 p.m. on June 5, Sterling Raphael will offer “A New Era in Fundraising” once again.
