Peachtree City, GA (PRWEB) May 31, 2012
SIGVARIS recently donated socks to volunteers and presented a check to help support the Sixth Annual 5K Run/Walk to Stop the Cycle of Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome that will be held on June 2 at Frame Park in Waukesha, WI.
Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome (CVS) is the most intense form of vomiting known to humans and is characterized by recurrent, prolonged attacks of severe nausea and vomiting that occur once every 5-10 minutes for hours, up to 10 days. Many suffers go undiagnosed for 10 years or more.
This year’s event will include a 5K run, a 5K walk and a Kids Fun Run. In addition to funding CVSA’s initiatives, partial proceeds raised by the event will benefit promising medical research at the Medical College of Wisconsin in the areas of causes, diagnoses and treatment of Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome.
SIGVARIS participates in many events each year to help raise awareness about staying healthy and to give back to the community.
About The Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome Association (CVSA)
The Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome Association (CVSA) serves the needs of Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome (CVS) sufferers, their families and professional care givers by raising awareness and providing education and support to those affected by cyclic vomiting, abdominal migraine and related disorders while advocating for and funding research. Established in 1993, CVSA has grown from a handful of interested parents and professionals, into a network that includes over 40 medical advisors and volunteers serving in the U.S. and Canada, as well as over 30 other countries worldwide. The association’s primary focus is working toward a cure, through the support of several promising research initiatives, and supporting its members by strengthening communications and offering a wide range of resources for education and support. http://www.cvsaonline.org
