From humble beginnings in a garage in North Prairie, Wisconsin, Prestwick Golf Group has grown to become the recognized leader in the golf course industry in terms of site furnishings. The company began selling accessories to area courses such as hazard markers and rope stakes. However, the owner’s vision drove a wider breadth of product development leading to many high-profile projects.
“I’m passionate about golf and every day I can’t help but be thankful to work in this industry,” said Mike Fryatt, Executive Vice President of Prestwick Golf Group. “At Prestwick, it’s more than just working in the golf industry though, to an extent, we work in the world of hospitality where the golfer’s experience is top of mind – that mindset is what has set us apart.”
Despite the economic downturn of 2008, Prestwick Golf Group has continued to grow steadily stateside as well as by serving international projects such as the Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeen, Scotland. “It’s really an honor to work with such outstanding courses around the world,” said Fryatt. “We’re grateful for the business and dedicated to serving the industry both in the U.S. and abroad with unmatched quality and craftsmanship for yet another 15 years and beyond.”
Prestwick Golf Group underwent a name change or “re-branding” in 2007, from being previously known as Great Lakes Golf Course Products. In 2010, Great Lakes Golf Course Products was brought back as its own brand, providing online ordering and free shipping to golf courses across the country. Prestwick Golf Group continues to offer a wider breadth of tailored, coordinating furnishings.
Time-honored craftsmanship, exemplary service and a culture of innovation set Prestwick apart as the leader in tailored golf course furnishings. Prestwick’s tailored furnishings can be seen on 78 of America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses as rated by Golf Digest, on 43 courses hosting 2011 PGA Tour stops, including all Major Golf Championships in the U.S. and in 45 countries worldwide.
