Yonder Biology today presents a web-based exhibition of a human genome in the dimension of time. The exhibition from Yonder is titled 'A Complete Genome in Time'. The human haploid genome is ~3.2 billion nucleotides (the individual units of DNA) -- represented by the letters A, C, G and T. How large is the Human Genome in days? 'A Complete Genome in Time' (ACGT) will take one year to cycle through the human genome sequence. Yonder’s ACGT exhibition will read approximately 100 bases per second for 365 days and display all of the genomic information contained within a single human genome.
"In a collaboration between scientists, bioinformaticists and artists, Yonder has conceived a work where the vastness of information that encodes human life is transformed into a familiar everyday measurement." said Andy Bass, Co-Founder of Yonder Biology. "DNA is the substance for most of our art at Yonder. The ACGT exhibition is our next step as we begin to look at the DNA code for our design projects in DNA Art as well as Bio Art.
