Mr. David Denno joined The Macduffie School in 2002 as a history teacher and has enjoyed a fruitful and rewarding career as one of the premier instructors at Macduffie.
An accomplished scholar, David graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts with a B.A. in history, and went on to Brown University where he earned his M.A. David has taught a variety of course at MacDuffie, including a broad array of history courses, as well as advanced level courses in English. Known as a man for whom history is an important facet of the human condition, David is as comfortable delivering a lecture on the fall of Nazi Germany as he is discussing the gradual demise of the American muscle car.
The Excellence in Teaching Award is an honor granted each year to outstanding teachers chosen by their peers. This year 40 different school communities in the Pioneer Valley recognized the tremendous commitment and impact on children that their contemporaries have had.
This is the ninth year for the program, which has grown from 16 participating school communities honoring 96 teachers in 2002, to 40 school communities at present. To date, over 1400 educators have been recognized with this outstanding achievement. The Macduffie School is proud to have David as a teacher and mentor to its students, and to grant him this esteemed award.
The MacDuffie School is a co-educational private high school for grades 6 – 12 offering a challenging academic curriculum as well as leadership opportunities and a wide range extra-curricular programs in the arts, athletics and community service.
