Celebrities or top business executives, whether internationally known or famous on a local scale, are often the target of stalkers. And some of these stalkers turn their admiration into deadly obsession; this is exactly what Claxton Group Inc is worried about as its board of directors has beefed up security personnel and other protective features for its young Chief Executive Officer, Eric Claxton.

The young Claxton in the last few months has become the target of a stalker. When their office began receiving threatening letters 4 months ago, the company brushed off the letters as nothing more than empty threats of a deranged individual. But in recently the letters became very graphic with death threats to the young Claxton and the rest of the family.

The company is no longer brushing off these threats; they have financed the installation of the best security system on the market for the 25-year-old CEO’s hilltop home in the very tony East Cobb portion of Atlanta. Also installed were motion censored and night vision cameras on the grounds of the home. These installations were no substitute for the fact that Claxton has been taught to shoot from a young age by his father and at the age of 25 is now a talented marksman.

The company is now working with law enforcement agencies to find this stalker and to guarantee the safety of Eric and the rest of the Claxton family. One point of contention during this ordeal has been the fact that Eric has refused to let this individual alter his life or his schedule. He is currently training to run in the Susan G Coleman run for a cure, a 60 mile, three day event held in Atlanta this fall, as well as a children’s charity event at Walt Disney World this fall. This means that it is the habit of Claxton to take long runs through Atlanta’s Piedmont Park or else along East Cobb’s Paper Mill Trail with his Golden retriever, Charlie. Up until recently the family and the company’s board of directors have largely stayed out of the executive’s personal life and has not interfered with his schedule. But Eric is now accompanied by plain clothed, armed security detail who can always be found running a short distance behind Claxton. The youthful and always smiling Claxton refuses to acknowledge the presence of these security personnel members as he and Charlie stop to greet familiar people and children along the trails during these morning and evening runs.

It is thought that the recent rise and popularity of the Claxton Family (and its Company, Claxton Group) has lead to this unwanted attention. In the real estate industry, the young Claxton is known as something of an anomaly as he is half the age of most industry movers & shakers however thus far has continued to out-perform most of his industry competitors. With the recent security concerns surrounding the protection of Eric- who is the only remaining child – the family and board of directors is seriously rethinking its position on allowing Eric to be so public with his role in the industry. But the young Claxton is showing true grit in his position that he will not alter his schedule, or not perform any of his duties as chief executive officer, nor will his slow his break-neck travel itinerary as he continues to cross the country on buying trips for the company. Eric also pledges to continue his duties for the family’s charitable organization.

One thing is clear that this point, with Eric being the only child left for this family dynasty, and the fact that he is the key to the company’s recent astronomical rise back to the forefront of its industry. Eric single-handedly engineered the company’s very profitable Merger’s program for the company’s multifamily acquisitions activities. With all these facts, one can guarantee that the company will use all means necessary to protect Eric and his family.
