London, 30 May 2012: Camden Council is revamping its Climate Change Alliance website with the help of local agency Westhill Communications, who designed and built the original site in 2009.
The site is the focal point of the Council’s initiative, which supports a network of local businesses committed to proactively tackling environmental issues in the borough.
Membership has grown dramatically since the site went live, so the Council is keen to maintain the momentum, move the brand forward and establish a members’ area. Behind the scenes, the update also provides an opportunity to migrate everything onto the latest Westhill content management system.
Westhill head of digital Brett Willis said: “Having worked closely with Camden Council to develop the brand identity and design and build the current website, it’s fantastic to have the opportunity to take the project forward. We’ve been kicking a few ideas around and hope to wow the council with some creative options.”
Alliance Programme Manager, Phil Rogers said: “The current website has done a great job, but it’s been up and running for three years now and we need to expand its functionality to reflect the project’s growth. The members’ area will help further foster the sense of local community that the alliance promotes. And we can’t wait to see what ideas Westhill come up with for the new look.”

About Better Climate for Camden and the Camden Climate Change Alliance
The Camden Climate Change Alliance was formed by Camden Council in 2008 to help organisations in Camden that are committed to reducing their carbon emissions and reducing associated energy bills. The Alliance now has 195 members who represent nearly 30% of Camden’s non-domestic emissions.
Membership of the Alliance and all services are free, and it is open to organisations of all sizes and all sectors that have premises located within Camden.
Since 2008, Alliance members have reduced their carbon footprints by 7.8%, well on track to achieve the founding target of 10% by 2012. The reductions made so far of 16,400 tonnes of carbon emissions equate to a £3 million saving on energy bills; an average saving of £15,000 per member.
