I knew starting this Internship Program would be the right decision and I certainly hope to be a part of some future lawyer's path into the legal profession.

The Matheson Law Office, Pllc has launched a new Internship Program as it continues to serve the local Raleigh, North Carolina Community by mentoring and volunteering with young people. Through this program, the Matheson Law Office hopes to nurture the interest and desire local youths have for the legal profession. As a leading law firm in the area of criminal defense and personal injury in the Research Triangle Area, the Matheson Law Office hopes this program will expand on the successes they have had in practice by providing an opportunity for local youths to learn in an environment of successful legal practice.
Raleigh DWI Attorney and Raleigh Criminal Attorney M. Moseley Matheson, Principal Attorney at the Matheson Law Office, was the driving force in building this Internship Program. Attorney Matheson routinely volunteers his time with the Capital Area Teen Court Program, as well as the Wake County Bar Association's Lunch-With-A-Lawyer Program. Through his efforts in these programs, he has been approached by youths interested in interning with the Matheson Law Office. Seeing an opportunity to expand on the experience these youths have with the legal profession, Attorney Matheson set out to create an environment where these young people would be immersed into the practice of law.
"I thoroughly enjoy my time with the organizations I volunteer with, especially the Capital Area Teen Court program." Raleigh Traffic Lawyer and Raleigh DWI Lawyer M. Moseley Matheson stated. "When you see these young people, who volunteer their time to participate in this program, put such effort into their trials, it's hard not to feel enthusiastic about their futures. These 'youth attorneys' as they are called, are constantly requesting insight into how they can better approach their trials. Through my discussions with them, several have inquired about an opportunity to intern with our firm in order to add to their legal experience. I knew starting this Internship Program would be the right decision and I certainly hope to be a part of some future lawyer's path into the legal profession."
Though the program will provide the intern with exposure to the world of Wake County Criminal Defense work and North Carolina Personal Injury work, Attorney Matheson expects it to be more then that. The Interns will also learn the requirements of managing a law office, including: client intake, case preparation, marketing, financial management, and other areas of running a successful Raleigh DWI Defense and Raleigh Criminal Defense Law Firm. It is the expectation of Attorney Matheson that these interns will gain valuable experience in the legal profession by assisting the firm in their day-to-day operations. Additionally, each Intern will be given a research project in which they will write a report detailing all facets of a particular area of law the Matheson Law Office practices in.
The new Internship Program for the Matheson Law Office is expected to run during the summer months. If successful, the firm will likely look into expanding the program in the fall to local Law School Students looking to get practical experience applying what they have learned in their studies. The Matheson Law Office, Pllc is currently in talks with potential interns for this summer's program and hopes to have their first Intern in place by next month.
