FireWhat, a start-up from Dunsmuir, CA, is proud to announce their newest app release. The Wildfire Pro App is now available for download in the Android platform on the Google App Store.

FireWhat is a company made by firefighters, for firefighters. They maintain a website, firewhat.com, that monitors and tracks wildfires across the country. The information is pulled from several federally-verified sources, ensuring accuracy. Critical information such as the size of the fire, a satellite image of the terrain involved, and local weather are all brought onto a single window, giving the viewer a complete overview of what is actually happening on the ground.

That information is now available to anyone with a smartphone. The app was released on the iOS platform last October, and has been expanded to three different versions, one for firefighters, one for homeowners, and a free, ‘lite’ version. These three are known as Wildfire Pro, Wildfire Home, and Wildfire Info, respectively. The Pro version, targeted towards firefighters, is the one now available for all Android-compatible phones. In addition to the mapping and weather information, handy features such as weather calculators and several operations guides.

The app is available for $6.99. For more information, check out firewhat.com.
