Invibio® Biomaterial Solutions, the world leader in PEEK-based polymers, announced its record number of submissions to the 9th World Biomaterials Congress (WBC) forum, which focus on the recent developments in PEEK-OPTIMA® technologies within a range of medical application areas.

Taking place on June 1st through to June 5th in Chengdu, China, WBC’s theme is centred on “Innovative Biomaterials and Crossing Frontiers in Biomaterials and Regenerative Medicine." With international attendance from scientists, clinicians, researchers and industry professionals, WBC is set to again be a prestigious event in the scientific calendar. Invibio’s significant contribution to PEEK is highlighted through 9 oral presentations and a further 21 poster presentations, both directly from Invibio and through collaborations with world-wide institutions. Additionally Invibio is hosting a lunchtime presentation session on “Implanted PEEK Polymer in Spinal and Orthopaedic Devices: Approaches to Enhance Biomaterial Interaction,” on Monday 4th June.

Advancements in patient recovery and clinical outcomes are a constant source of discussion within the medical industry and as such new methods of improved biomaterial interaction are consistently sought after. As an established and recognised biomaterial, PEEK has received an increased interest into its bioactive capabilities, with more and more research facilities exploring innovative modification options.

Invibio remains at the forefront of these investigations, as shown by its extensive research network which utilizes global expertise and knowledge from industry recognised institutions. WBC is a prime indication of the support that Invibio provides to the field of research and development, as a high number of the submissions feature collaborations with this highly acclaimed research network.
