Webstagram Releases Instagram Search Engine Called Search.Stagram

Webstagram (http://web.stagram.com), a popular Instagram viewer, has released a dedicated search engine aimed at helping Instagram fans find the images they want.

The website is Search.Stagram http://search.stagram.com/

Instagram is a free photo-sharing program that enables users to apply digital effects to their photographs and then share them with others.

Initially launched as an Apple app, Instagram has enjoyed massive popularity: as of July 2011, 100 million photos had been uploaded to Instagram and by April 2012 30 million accounts had been set up.

On April 12, 2012, it was acquired by Facebook for an estimated $1 billion dollars.

Webstagram provides a Web interface for the Instagram app, enabling users to tag images with descriptive labels and adding a social networking dimension.

As well as browsing popular categories, photos and users, Webstagram members can follow other users, comment on their Instagram photos and "like" favorite images. Users can also see who is following them and add Webstagram to their RSS feeds to get the latest updates.

Now Webstagram has expanded its range of tools by launching Search.Stagram.com. This works like an ordinary search engine but only returns Instagram photos. Users enter a search term in the text field at the top of the page and the service returns a gallery of matching images.
