In the hit CW television series, “One Tree Hill,” the North Carolina town of Tree Hill is filled with intense drama, whether dealing with the throngs of love, a family’s hidden past, and even murder. It is this same excitement that drives author Phyllis Falls Rogers’ new book, “The Tangled Web” (published by AuthorHouse).
In the sleepy little town of Bibly, life never happens in a vacuum – nor does death. When the body of the richest man in town was found in Reverend Brewster’s church, his death was thought to be from natural causes. Hank Jasper was murdered, however, and the investigation into his death leads to the disruption of more than just one family.
Hank's death touched the lives of others in ways both good and bad. Secrets would never have been revealed and lives would never have changed, but for the way this one man died. In order to find the murderer, Police Chief Mack Scofield has to untangle twisted relationships without revealing Hank’s secrets too soon, or to the wrong people. Lilly, Tommy and Sam all have to come to terms with the knowledge of the real role Hank Jasper played in their lives.
“The Tangled Web” asks some probing questions about family and hidden secrets. She says, “It encourages the reader to think about the right and wrong of withholding truth from children, whether in love for the child or some other reason.”
