The Hague, Netherlands (PRWEB) June 19, 2012
Gramble, an aspiring cross-platform social game network, today announced that Novamedia has become a foundation investor and strategic partner. Novamedia is the third largest private charity donor in the world. Its ambassadors include Bill Clinton, Rafael Nadal and Sir Richard Branson.
With Novamedia’s backing Gramble is attracting developers, charities and gamers on its quest to become the first global social gaming network dedicated to making the world a better place by connecting the world through games. Gramble players can ‘champion’ a charity and become a ‘Grambassador’, where they can have fun and feel good about playing their favourite games.
Gramble goes live later this year with a growing number of developers utilizing the open platform to showcase their games without the clutter and prohibitive expense of existing social networks. Games will be available across multiple platforms, with the same high level experience - be it smart phones, tablets, connected TVs, or traditional PCs.
Gramble was founded by Adam Palmer, the 2012 Netherlands Young Entrepreneur of the Year award winner. Palmer is passionate about ‘doing something positive for the world’ and sees that social gaming has the ability to influence the direction and scope of large numbers of charities.
“We’re creating a fun and constructive gaming network where it’s not only great entertainment but it’s also time well spent,” said Palmer, Founder and CEO of Gramble. “It’s gaming for good where players are doing what they love to do, while contributing to causes they believe in.”
Gramble’s partner Novamedia is operating Postcode Lotteries in Europe that have funded charities for more than 20 years with the support of some of the world’s most respected dignitaries, business leaders and celebrities. Thanks to millions of players around the world, the Postcode Lotteries have raised more than $5 billion (USD) to support charities – including a whopping $700 million (USD) last year alone.
“We are delighted that Novamedia has become a part of Gramble. We share many of the same values for making the world a better place and the passion of Adam and the team at Gramble is infectious,” said Annemiek Hoogenboom, Director of Novamedia. “We are looking forward to a lasting relationship and are convinced that Gramble will become a major player on the global stage.”
