MindGames, Inc., a leading online trivia and knowledge-based gaming company, today announced the official launch of MindSports Football (http://www.mindcorporate.com or http:/on.fb.me/msfpage), an on-demand casual and social game that allows football fans to compete with and against their friends and rivals. The game, a 2012 Webby Awards Official Honoree, allows fans to make the virtual drive to a championship all year long - even when the pro football season is over.

MindGames, which completed an initial round of seed investment in 2011, also announced that it has reached an agreement with NFL PLAYERS Incorporated, (NFL PLAYERS), enabling the company to leverage NFL player group licensing rights both within and in support of the game. MindSports Football has already received promotional support through social media outlets from several players.

MindSports Football is the first full-featured game from the team at MindGames, a company founded by online sports and fantasy game veterans Larry Tobin and Eric LaVanchy. Tobin began his sports industry career with The National Sports Daily and NHL Interactive, and was the former head of fantasy gaming for Yahoo! Sports and VP of Production at FOX Sports Interactive. LaVanchy previously founded online sports game development company Bottle Rocket, and served in digital leadership roles at ACTV, The Ritz Club London and international entertainment company Endemol. Tobin and LaVanchy first worked together at an AT&T interactive television R&D group in the early 1990s.

“MindSports Football has been specifically designed to give football diehards a way to stay engaged with professional football even when there is no live game action,” said MindGames co-founder Tobin. “We are providing fans with a complement to fantasy games, and giving brands a way to reach these users during the months between the playoffs and the start of the season.”

Players compete by answering trivia questions, identifying NFL player images and solving puzzles. Players can also acquire “Power Cards,” virtual NFL player trading cards that can be used to get in-game bonuses and unlock special features. Fans also collect prize tickets as they play, each of which gives them a chance to win great prizes at the end of every month - items up for grabs include autographed memorabilia from football superstars such as Eli Manning, Tom Brady, James Harrison, Tim Tebow, Larry Fitzgerald, Tony Romo and more.
