Pippin Contemporary Gallery is holding an art show for artist Sandra Duran Wilson called ‘Bending Light from Wednesday June 27 to Wednesday, July 11th and an opening reception for the show from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, July 6. The Sandra Duran Wilson solo exhibition ‘Bending Light’ features mixed media on panels and canvas is inspired by the artist’s interpretation and experimentation with materials. States Wilson, “Science influences my painting, not only through concepts, but by the physical properties of the mediums.” Similar to the rainbow colors and reflective nature of prisms, the works are comprised of beads, embedded glass on cast acrylic panels of different levels – which reflect and bend the light providing the viewer with a holographic visual experience.
