Round Rock, TX (PRWEB) June 06, 2012
The United Association of Storm Restoration Contractors (UASRC) has formed as a non-profit organization with the goal of inspiring positive change in the storm restoration industry. The mission of the UASRC and its initial founding Members is to promote the highest ethical standards in the restoration industry. Our Members adhere to a code of professional conduct, educate property owners about the insurance claims process, and give back to the community through outreach and charitable programs.
Jacob Sachs has been appointed the Executive Director and Bill Combes has been appointed the Director of Marketing and Member Services. Jacob comes with a great depth of experience in all aspects of the home remodeling trades. Jacob entered the residential remodeling trades in 1996. In 2009, he was recruited by one of the nation’s largest Re-Bath franchise operators to manage their sales and marketing department. That office was purchased by a competing Re-Bath franchise in 2011. Jacob joined the UASRC in early 2012. Bill comes to the UASRC with a wide variety of experiences in multiple industries. His start up experience goes back to 1995 when he co-founded AnythingWeather. Bill spent from 2008 through 2011 at AnythingWeather as VP of Operations and Marketing. This experience introduced him to many connections in the storm restoration business, further developing his skills in both marketing and social media.
The initial founders consist of the following companies: Hoffman Weber Construction, Mastercraft Exteriors, Canopy Construction, Reroof America, PGRS, Kaiser Roofing, Precision Roof Contractors, American Home Specialists, Infinity Roofing and Siding, Grace Homes, Cedar Valley Exteriors, ProTouch Exteriors, Ideal Roofing and Exteriors, Universal Builders of America and Aspenmark Roofing and Solar. With over 90 years of combined experience in the roofing and restoration industry, our founding members look to make a positive impact on the industry by providing the best in-class service to homeowners affected by storms. The UASRC will also work closely with legislators, insurance companies, and both local and national media to improve the practices and image of the storm restoration industry.
The UASRC has a distinguished board of advisors. These advisors agreed to be a voice of experience to help guide the UASRC make their vision a reality and come from many facets of the storm restoration industry including suppliers, manufactures and support product vendors.
After storms hit an area, homeowners are often approached by transient roofing companies to assist with insurance claims and repairing the damage. UASRC members will be instantly recognizable with their credentials and UASRC identification badges. As a best practice, you should look for the following to identify a legitimate roofer:
- Clearly represents their products and services, including adequate disclosures of all material terms in writing
- Provides proper information on their insurance coverage
- Openly identifies the nature, location and ownership of the business and clearly discloses all policies, guarantees and procedures relevant to the customer
- Abides by all written agreements and verbal representations
- Does not offer or agree to cover the insurance deductible
The UASRC was formed in part to give property owners the information they need to make an informed decision in regards to their storm related repairs. Our facebook page UASRC Facebook has a lot of great information on the storm restoration industry. The UASRC also serves as a resource for property owners and contractors that have fallen victim to disreputable contractors, and insurance claim related issues.
