After more than 30 years as a leading provider of IT services in the Pacific Northwest U.S., and on the heels of its most recent acquisition, Northwest Computer Support today announced it has changed its name to BlackPoint IT Services.
What started as a small Seattle computer repair company in 1977 has since grown to a three-location IT consulting firm with locations in Seattle, Portland, OR, and Boise, ID. The company now boasts extensive expertise in a full range of technologies, including infrastructure, security, storage, virtualization, business continuity, portals and collaboration, print, sustainable IT solutions, managed IT, and cloud services.
Shortly after its most recent acquisition of DP Northwest in Portland, OR, Northwest Computer Support co-owners James and Lesleigh Watson chose to consolidate the two companies into one new brand. “We decided to develop a new brand to demonstrate how we’ve evolved from a local computer repair shop to a best-in-class professional IT services company,” says BlackPoint CEO James Watson. “We wanted a name that connotes a professional, focused, consultative IT firm, and one that wouldn’t pigeonhole us as just a computer break/fix shop.”
In addition to the name change, BlackPoint underwent a full-blown brand identity refresh. They tapped Ingram Micro Creative Services Agency to help them design, build and launch a complete corporate identity package, including business cards, letterhead, sales collateral, brochures, branded promotional items, and a custom web site.
