Montreal, Canada and Martinsville, NJ (PRWEB) June 07, 2012

Rising star Kristen Bussandri launches fundraising campaign on Hotathon.com to benefit non-profit Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD).

In a recent phone interview Kristen described how the project came about, “I was driving to New York with bandmate Oliver Boyer-Massuti to play a show. On the way we stopped in New Jersey to see some old friends - one of whom happens to be Hotathon founder Mikal Celentano. Then Oliver and I were playing a few of our songs acoustically. Before we knew it, the Celentanos had us miked up and Oliver and I recorded one of our most intimate and powerful takes yet. We are really excited to be doing a Hotathon with this positive song.” Hear a clip: http://youtu.be/LLYz44A9DSM

Kristen's Manager provided further insight about "My Own Enemy": "The song is about becoming self-aware when we create our own obstacles. We have seen too many wonderful people do self-destructive things. This track is about how we all have the power in us to pull out of our own emotional ruts, without relying on negativity, drugs or other destructive habits."

This unique performance of "My Own Enemy" is only available on Hotathon, where over 50% of the purchase price goes to the designated charity. An avid Hotathon fanthropist explains, "We're talking pounds not pennies - Hotathon runs a completely different service - they raise dollars not dimes with each transaction."

Hotathon founder Mikal Celentano shares a behind the scenes glimpse about what the song means to her. "We were fans of Kristen long before she started to build her international fan base. When she started to sing 'My Own Enemy,' we were so inspired by how it embodied so much about the self-awareness and self-esteem that is make or break for young people in today's complicated world. It made perfect sense to match this song with the mission of Students Against Destructive Decisions."

Just by coming to Hotathon, enjoying the song, spreading the word and purchasing the song, everyone can make a difference and support SADD and its mission.
