Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 07, 2012
CapLinked, the social enterprise platform for private company investing, announced today the launch of the CapLinked Elite Accelerator Program. Limited to startups in the nation’s top technology accelerators, the program allows the startups to take advantage of CapLinked’s premium capital raising and investor relations tools.
Accelerators and incubators participating in the invitation-only program include: TechStars, Launchpad LA, Science, 500 Startups, Tech Wildcatters, Amplify, and LaunchBox Digital. The program is designed to help high growth technology startups secure financing faster by minimizing the complexity of managing a capital raise through the use of CapLinked’s software.
Startups enrolled in these elite accelerators are granted access to CapLinked’s premium TEAM accounts, which include secure cloud-based data rooms to help companies manage a capital raise or asset sale. Users also receive enhanced tools to help them syndicate their deals to multiple parties, and reports that tell them who downloads their information, which helps them manage their leads throughout the due diligence and closing processes. After the capital raise is done, startups can use CapLinked to keep their investors updated.
“I’m excited that CapLinked is making this program available to our startups,” says Brad Taylor, partner at Tech Wildcatters, which was recently named to Forbes’ Top 10 Startup Incubators and Accelerators list. “CapLinked’s powerful tools for raising capital and managing investor relations will give Tech Wildcatters’ startups a leg up in securing funding and building strong relationships with their stakeholders. We’re thrilled to be part of this program.”
Funded by members of the “PayPal Mafia,” CapLinked has grown by over 6,000% since its public launch in February of last year. Over 135,000 users have created $35 billion worth of deals on the site in a broad array of industries, including technology, financial services, energy, transportation, and real estate. Unlike expensive legacy data room services such as Intralinks and Merrill Datasite, CapLinked is a free product that gives users the option of upgrading to its premium subscription services.
“Fortune 500 companies and giant investment banks have always had expensive tools to help them manage capital raises and investor relations,” says CapLinked CEO Eric M. Jackson. “But smaller companies and startups have had to rely on imperfect technology, like their inbox and unsecure file-sharing solutions. CapLinked is giving companies and investors—whatever the size—powerful tools to exchange information and get deals done.”
Jackson adds that the CapLinked Elite Accelerator Program’s goal is to enable promising startups to secure funding faster and with fewer headaches so they can start creating jobs sooner. The company will continue to invite other top-tier accelerators to join the program over the weeks to come.
CapLinked was co-founded in 2010 by Jackson (PayPal's first head of US marketing and author of the book The PayPal Wars) and Christopher Grey (former managing director at a subsidiary of Emigrant Bank, the largest privately owned bank in the country. Its financial backers include many members of the so-called “PayPal Mafia,” including Peter Thiel (co-founder of PayPal and the first investor in Facebook), Dave McClure (founding partner of 500 Startups), David Sacks (CEO of Yammer), Joe Lonsdale (co-founder of Palantir Technologies), David Anderson (managing partner of 7th Rig), and Stephan Paternot (co-founder of TheGlobe.com).
