Middlesex, NJ (PRWEB) June 06, 2012
Central Components Manufacturing has recently released a line of SHV connectors to serve industry manufacturers of high voltage electronics. SHV or "safe high voltage" connectors are special types of RF connectors used to terminate coaxial cable. They can handle high voltage applications of up to 5000 volts. They comply with the National Bureau of Standards specification ND-545 and meet all specifications for NIM standard high-voltage connectors of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. SHV connectors feature a thick protruding insulator that makes them safer for handling in high voltage applications. The insulator prevents accidental electrocution with the live conductor when and SHV connector is unmated. SHV connectors also protect from accidental shocks by breaking the high voltage contact before the ground contact.
Central Components is currently manufacturing four different types of SHV connectors. A coaxial plug, a bulkhead solder jack, a panel receptacle, and a coaxial panel receptacle. The coaxial plugs feature a quick-disconnect, bayonet locking mechanism for simple and safe mating and unmating and support RG-59, 62, 71, 58,174,188, and custom RG applications. Some common products that these SHV connectors are used in are Geiger Counters, laboratory equipment, and various nuclear applications.
