The law office of Louis H. Watson, Jr., P.A. confirms that on June 6, 2012, a federal lawsuit was filed against Jackson Mayor Harvey Johnson and the Jackson Redevelopment Authority. According to the lawsuit, Advanced Technology Building Solutions, LLC and Donald Hewitt are alleging Mayor Harvey Johnson and the Jackson Redevelopment Authority along with its members improperly prevented Mr. Hewitt and his company from receiving approval for projects involving the Historic Deposit Guaranty National Bank and building a hotel next to the Jackson Convention Complex.

Mr. Hewitt and Advanced Technology Building Solutions, LLC are being represented by attorneys Louis H. Watson, Jr. and Nick Norris. The case is currently pending in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi. The case is Advanced Technology Building Solutions, LLC and Donald Hewitt v. City of Jackson, Mississippi, et al Civil Action No: 3:12CV-389-DPJ-FKB.
