University of Akron Football Program’s Summer Jamboree Golf Outing Achieves Sellout Capacity

The University of Akron football program's Summer Jamboree Golf Tournament presented by LeafFilter, scheduled for Monday, June 11 at The Quarry Golf Club in Canton, has reached its maximum 36 foursomes and has sold out.

The event provides a great opportunity to spend time with fellow alumni or former teammates as well as visit with first-year head coach Terry Bowden and his staff.

One hundred forty four golfers will participate in the tournament between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM on June 11. A dinner and awards ceremony will begin immediately after the tournament at 4:00 PM. The golf tournament reached sellout capacity on May 30, 2012. Tickets for the dinner and awards ceremony are still available for $35 per person.

The 2012 Summer Jamboree will feature new Head Coach Terry Bowden, Associate Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator Chuck Amato and the extended coaching staff.

Bowden, who owns a 140-62-2 record (69.3 winning percentage) over an 18-year coaching career, was named The University of Akron's 27th head football coach on Dec. 22, 2011. Bowden was a studio analyst and color commentator with ABC Sports' college football for 10 years, the head coach at Auburn from 1993-98 and spent the previous three seasons at Division II North Alabama.
