ProtectCell, a pioneer in handset protection, today announced the appointment of Arun Desouza as Chief Operating Officer.

Desouza brings with him more than 18 years of operations, information technology and leadership experience. He was most recently Director of Strategic Planning and Security / Deputy Chief Information Officer for INERGY Automotive Systems, a global Tier One supplier of automotive fuel systems. Desouza comes to ProtectCell with an extensive background in organizational transformation, enterprise collaboration and process improvement.

In his new role, Desouza will be responsible for ensuring efficient business operations within ProtectCell. He will also lead design, development and deployment of operational improvements based on performance metrics and oversee the Operations, Information Technology and Human Resources departments.

Desouza has received several prestigious industry awards during his career, including being selected by Computerworld Magazine as a 2012 Premier 100 IT Leader. He holds Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering.
