Joan Dangerfield Surprises Las Vegas Legend

What do you get for the man who has everything? If you’re Joan Dangerfield and your fiancé is Kirk Kerkorian, the answer is: a flash mob.

On Wednesday, June 6th, 2012, billionaire and “the father of the mega-resort” Kirk Kerkorian was surprised with a flash mob for his 95th birthday. The gift, arranged by his fiancée Joan Dangerfield, was performed to the song, "To Know Him Is To Love Him" by The Shirelles (view video of the flash mob here: http://youtu.be/bEL32jBe4MU).

“Like the rest of the world,” said Joan, “I have been noticing the flash mob phenomenon for a while. I really love the spirit behind them and the unexpected joy they bring. And the sentiment of the song ‘To Know Him Is To Love Him’ is an absolute truth in Kirk’s case.”

The birthday surprise took place at Los Angeles legendary landmark The Beverly Hills Hotel, one of Kerkorian’s favorite hangouts. Joan met her fiancé at the valet and escorted him to a private bungalow. Once there, she claimed to have a faulty key and faked a call to the front desk for a new one. While on the call, a Flash Mob America dancer approached Kirk and said, "Hey, I know you. You’re Kirk Kerkorian. I just love you." Then another approached and said, "I know you and I love you too." Kirk caught on quickly. "Something is going on here," he said with a smile. Music erupted and a flood of dancers swarmed in to join the choreographed hoopla. "To know, know, know you is to love, love, love you…” echoed through the air as Joan took her place with the dancers to finish off the number. As the song wound down, the crowd quickly dispersed. Kirk was delighted with the surprise and said that nobody had ever done anything so wonderful for him – and that he would love to do it all over again.

Kerkorian (http://www.kirkkerkorian.com), a legendary figure in Las Vegas and Hollywood, still goes to the office everyday and remains the largest shareholder of MGM Resorts.

Joan Dangerfield, founder of consulting company The Opus 73 Group (http:http://www.opus73.com), was recently hired by the Chinese government to help identify investment opportunities in Hollywood entertainment and media companies.

The Beverly Hills Hotel, which has never hosted a flash mob event prior to yesterday, is celebrating 100 years of glory and reveres Kirk as one of their all-time favorite guests.

Flash Mob America (http://www.flashmobamerica.com/), the number one flash mob company in the world, produced the birthday event.
