G Alex Foundation joins forces with DragonRidge Country Club for DragonRidge TeamTennis, an action-packed day of tennis for benefit of the Las Vegas Charity to continue enriching lives through tennis and wellness programs. DragonRidge TeamTennis takes place on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Dragon Ridge Tennis, 1400 Foothills Village Drive, Henderson, Nevada 89012, 8:00am.

G Alex Foundation provides free tennis clinics and mentoring, and health screenings with education to diverse populations. GAF’s tennis programs are envisioned to grow the game because it inherently provides the means to develop and strengthen characteristics such as self-confidence, team work, goal-setting, and socialization. The wellness programs are designed to engage individuals in high risk categories in their own health care. Screenings include Kidney Disease, Prostate Cancer, and Diabetes. Thus event proceeds will enable G Alex Foundation to continue these programs and open the Community Wellness Center that is planned for 2012. Tax deductible donations are welcome via cash, check or PayPal.

DragonRidge Country Club is an excellent venue for this event. Named after the "Sleeping Dragon" ridge, DragonRidge Country Club offers an 18-hole championship golf course, a state-of-the art fitness center and “elegant service” along with 5 great tennis courts, where DragonRidge TeamTennis takes place.

DragonRidge TeamTennis is team competition with on-court coaching to be provided by Grand Slam Champions Laurie “Bat” Warder and Stephen Huss. DragonRidge’s teaching pros will also participate--Kristina Nedeltcheva Hollander and Adrien Hidvegi, who both made tennis history at University of Nevada Las Vegas. Teams will be assigned a coach, play round-robin matches for prizes, and receive team shirts. Participants will also be treated to a court-side dinner while the pros play an exhibition match.

The registration deadline is Friday, June 15, 2012 and the registration fee per team is $1200. Each team will have 6-10 players. Team matches are similar to World Team Tennis, yet has different scoring; matches include men’s singles & doubles, women’s singles & doubles, and mixed.
