Johnson Precision Holds Open House to Promote Disabled Employee Awareness

Johnson Precision held an open house to promote awareness of the opportunities and contributions of disabled and disadvantaged workers. Johnson Precision is proud to support and employ non-traditional workers, and was privileged to host the day's events.

Among the 100 individuals that attended were members from regional schools, support organizations, and government offices, as well as families, friends and workers themselves. Conducted entirely by company employees, the open house demonstrated, from the employee perspective, how non-traditional workers have a place alongside traditional workers in a modern manufacturing facility. The day's events included confidence and team-building workshops that helped to further communicate the message.

"Our involvement with this program has been beneficial to these three disabled employees, and a great learning and life experience for our employees throughout the company," stated Jo Spence, Materials Manager. "We have embraced this change as we move toward a more diverse and versatile work force. The day showcased the benefits of a diversified workplace, which include tax credits, alternative training, enhanced morale, and a dedicated and hardworking workforce.
