New York, NY (PRWEB) June 13, 2012

Women 2.0, a business network and emerging global media company, today announced it has partnered with L’Oréal USA, the world's leading beauty company, to foster leadership and innovation at the intersection of the beauty and technology industries.

Together, Women 2.0 and L’Oréal USA will activate female entrepreneurs and investors in the areas of digital marketing, technology and IT in order to provide the next generation of women in the digital space with recognition, beta testing labs and recruitment opportunities. These offerings are aimed to support women working to establish technology companies that are revolutionizing the beauty industry.

The technology sector is a vital driver of consistent sustainable economic growth and competition in the U.S. As emerging companies continue to focus on the creation of beauty-centric technologies, L’Oréal USA will work with Women 2.0 to raise awareness of an underinvested and under-mentored market.

As part of the partnership, Women 2.0 and L’Oréal will initiate the following programs:

PITCH Conference & Competition: L’Oreal will provide $25,000 and one year of mentorship to the top company as selected by L’Oreal of the Women 2.0 Startup Competition, part of the inaugural New York City PITCH Conference & Competition this Fall, to further develop their business. At PITCH, a diverse pool of finalists will exhibit their business ideas to a team of entrepreneurs and venture and angel investors. (Details to be announced in coming weeks at http://www.women2.com)

Founder Friday Boston: Founder Friday is the flagship Women 2.0 networking event that promotes the creation of communities among aspiring and existing entrepreneurs and investors. L’Oreal will sponsor the first ever Founder Friday Boston.

Founder Friday San Francisco: L’Oréal Women in Digital will also sponsor a Founder Friday San Francisco, the home of the event series, where the brand can capitalize on Women 2.0’s deep seeded entrepreneurial following.

“There is a prevalence of startups in industries such as media, fashion, beauty and communications,” said Charania. “This partnership allows us to unleash and promote women who are shaking up the digital beauty industry. We’re excited to introduce our founders to opportunities with the world’s leading beauty brand and help to develop technology for women by women.”

”We are dedicated to inspiring entrepreneurism among women and shedding light on the beauty sector’s impact on digital innovation,” said Rachel Weiss, vice president of Digital Strategy, L’Oreal USA and chair of L’Oreal Women in Digital. “Our partnership with Women 2.0 reflects our commitment to embrace female founders while targeting our core customers. We’re proud to serve as an incubator for technological advancements in this pivotal juncture.”

L’Oreal’s support of Women 2.0 demonstrates how leading organizations can help create opportunities and inspire female founders via face-to-face networking opportunities.
