gMed is proud to announce that after much consideration, Asheville Gastroenterology Associates in Asheville, NC has made the decision to convert from gCare (version 3.0) to gGastro (version 4.0). This decision was arrived at after researching several of the leading EHR systems, and realizing that gGastro, gMed’s Electronic Health Record application, was the best fit for their practice.
Some of the factors which helped Asheville arrive at their decision included gGastro’s fully integrated endowriter and databases and gFax’s ability to separate faxes when they are sent in batches. The ease of use, especially the scrolling layout of the system, was another aspect of gGastro that appealed to Asheville’s physicians and administrators. They also look forward to learning about gPM, gMed’s brand new practice management offering.
Frank J. Chapman, M.B.A., COO of Asheville Gastroenterology Associates states: “We are convinced after doing significant research into other products that it (gGastro) continues to be the best fit for our practice. Version 4 continues to have all clinical information in a single, and what appears to be a more robust database which a separate office EHR and a separate endowriter would not and that is a significant benefit in terms of advanced reporting.”
“The relationship between Asheville Gastroenterology and gMed has been on-going,” says Scott Wilson, VP of Sales and Business Development, gMed, “The transition from the 3x to 4x platform seemed straightforward, but it was more than just a product decision. At the root of the discussions were many questions pertaining to a vision of where and how EMRs will be able to help the practice cut costs and improve the quality of healthcare. It was this vision, fueled by a comfort level that I believe swayed Asheville Gastroenterology to choosing to upgrade rather than to convert to a foreign system.”
