Players know if you're genuine, they know if you care for them,.... We're going to treat our players with tremendous respect...I'm a hands-on coach. I'm about hands-on relationships. That's our whole deal is building that relationship.

Pittbsurgh PA (PRWEB) June 12, 2012

In a little less than 3 months, the Pittsburgh Panther Football team will take the field for the first time with a new head coach. Paul Chryst has taken over as Head Coach of the Pitt football team for Todd Graham who left to become the Arizona State football coach on December 14, 2011 after less than one season and weeks before the Panthers were to meet in a bowl game. Todd Graham said at his Arizona State Press conference, "Players know if you're genuine, they know if you care for them," Graham said. "We're going to treat our players with tremendous respect...I'm a hands-on coach. I'm about hands-on relationships. That's our whole deal is building that relationship." Many fans around Pittsburgh found this quote unsettling. Have no fear a new coach has emerged for this top notch university. Paul Chryst will shine despite the less than ideal departure of his predecessor.

Paul Chryst was the offensive coordinator for the Wisconsin Badgers who average 44.6 points per game, 4th in the nation and 467 total yards per game. Panther football fans certainly have reason to be hesitant to jump on board all the hype around a potential offensive juggernaut. However, make no mistake about it, Chryst will bring an offensive minded philosophy to a team struggling to find an offensive identity.

The 2012 Pittsburgh Panther football schedule kicks off on September 1st against Youngstown State at Heinz Field. However, it is the Virginia Tech Hokies game at Heinz Field on September 15th which is most anticipated. This match up gives Pitt fans their first glance into the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) opponents because in 2013 the Pittsburgh Panthers Athletics will move to the ACC. The Pittsburgh's final regular season football game in the Big East will conclude at South Florida on December 1st.
