NY, NY (PRWEB) June 12, 2012

DaniWeb, a community of IT developers, programmers, and technology enthusiasts, announces its code snippet contest with $500 in prizes for the winners. The online programming and web development community is hosting an online contest giving everyone the chance to win big. Entries began earlier this month and will continue to be accepted until the end of July. DaniWeb members have the chance to submit a code snippet into DaniWeb’s continuously growing library for the chance to win one of three prizes. Becoming a member of the community has always been quick, easy, and free. To get the community involved, and the social media buzz climbing even more, members will begin voting for the winners in the beginning of August. There is also an active discussion thread in the forums revolving around the contest, where community members are encouraged to suggest future contest ideas.

Categories included:

  •     most efficiently written code
  •     most creative functionality
  •     most elegant code

Rules to submit:

  •     Code snippets in any language as long as they are fully working and bug free will be permitted

Earlier this week, DaniWeb announced the contest in our monthly community newsletter, which goes out to over 750K of its members. Developers are encouraged to join the community to get all of the updates for future contests, drawings and live events.

“We’ve done some great events in New York City. This time we wanted to host an event that the entire world could attend,” said DaniWeb COO Kerry Webber. He and Dani Horowitz, DaniWeb Founder and CEO, are encouraging individuals around the globe within the technology industry to join the community and take part in the fun. DaniWeb live events raffle away thousands of dollars in prizes including big screen 3D tvs, iPads, netbooks, digital cameras, XBox 360s and much more. This is just the beginning of translating that physical experience into the virtual world.
