Cypress Expands to New Media Markets, Makes Key Executive Hires

Cypress ( an award-winning Seattle-based digital agency, today announced plans to hire up to 30 new employees in 2012, driven by an increase in consumer video consumption and demand from national brands to make their interactive content available across multiple screens and platforms.

This expansion coincides with the firm’s recent move to a larger office space, now occupying an entire floor in the historic Polson Building in Seattle’s Pioneer Square. The move enabled Cypress to add a cutting-edge media lab, where employees test and perfect innovative applications on a host of devices and consoles for marquee clients like Amazon, Arts & Entertainment Network, Fox Broadcasting, Machinima, and Sony.

The company also recently added three key executives with decades of proven interactive experience and industry acumen. New Executive Technical Director Steve Gray joins Cypress from HTC, where he previously held the position of Principal Technologist. Prior to that, Gray served as the Director of Technology at Razorfish for ten years. Gray’s expertise in e-commerce and mobile development makes him a strong asset to Cypress’ team. Jon Day became Cypress’ new Director of Sales and Marketing, bringing eighteen years of experience in top-line revenue growth, channel development and marketing at top digital agencies, including Vertigo and Saltmine. And, digital veteran Steve Hart was recently promoted from Senior Project Manager to Director of Project Management, where he has over 12 years of experience keeping projects on schedule and within budget for clients that include Amazon, Microsoft and Russell Investments.
