Logic Furniture has announced the results of the first phase of its DuraMech Sleeper System re-naming competition, with the top five finalists posted on its website at http://www.logicfurniture.com/sleeper-system-renaming.
Logic is now inviting people to visit the competition website and vote for their first and second choice of a new name that better suits the unique features and design of the sleeper’s easy-to-use, roll-over, open-and-close operation. With one motion, the sleeper can be opened, automatically store the seat cushions and sofa back, and enable an unexpected, deep, revitalizing night’s sleep using an electro-welded steel mesh foundation and supportive 5-inch mattress, which eliminates the uncomfortable “bar in the back” found with most sleeper sofas.
Five entries were selected by Logic from all competition entries submitted by May 31. Online voting, which started June 12, will continue until June 19, in order to select the top two names. The individual submitting the winning entry will receive a “newly-renamed” sleeper sofa in their choice of style, size, and fabric. The runner up in votes will receive a Studio Flip-Flop sleeper sofa with choice of fabric.
“We want to thank everyone who submitted name suggestions,” said Scott Billet, Logic director of program management. “Our top five list shows some of the creative suggestions we received, and now everyone has a chance to help us further pin down a name that truly reflects what this sleeper sofa can do. Get online and vote!”
“The competition has been great,” continued Billet. “We know we have a terrific product and it needs a name that more effectively communicates what it can do. But instead of just developing a new name ourselves, we wanted to ask our partners in design, architecture, building, and hospitality: ‘What would you name this product that would attract your interest?’ It’s a different way to do market research. But then this is a different product too.”
Logic sleeper sofa options also include an upgraded memory foam mattress and an expansive array of textiles for a smart and stylish appearance. With total cost of ownership in mind, upholstery components can be easily replaced on the same sleeper mechanism to repair damage or to give designers and hoteliers the opportunity to bring a new décor package to life. The sleeper has tested durability — exceeding more than 10,000 opening and closing cycles. Its modular design means that it can also be easily disassembled and reassembled to facilitate movement through narrow hallways and doors and into distinctive spaces.
