Live 2B Local, the brainchild of biodynamic and sustainable farming activist and filmmaker, Dandy Noel, is starting summer 2012 with some fantastic goals in mind, both for organic, sustainable farming, local businesses, and the planet.
The Live 2B Local Project is rapidly expanding, and Dandy is currently promoting her “Indie GoGo Fundraising Campaign,” which will help support her travels across the country for the next six months, as she interviews local/sustainable businesses in different cities along the way, gathering information to create a website that will serve as a hub where people can have a reference for finding and supporting what's local & sustainable in their community. She is also going to be documenting her entire journey – hoping to reach the goal of attaining $5,000 in the next 30 days.
She is already in the process of traveling to Oregon, Washington, then plans to make her way to the East Coast, as she documents with both photos and video interviews, business that are doing great things to be sustainable, and that have the passion and belief that led them to start a business that serves the community, people, and the environment.
To help her get started, she is seeking donations to build the website and give her the ability to travel to the locations and film the interviews. She is also providing daily blogs and photos on http://www.Live2BLocal.com so people can see the project’s development along the way, adding, “The website that I’m creating is really important to me because it's supports what people are doing to help change and make this world a better place. It's everything I believe in - from being sustainable, to helping the community, to being connected to both the people around us and to ourselves.”
Dandy is a professional filmmaker from the Los Angeles area and has been making video and film pieces, for the past 9 years. She has won many awards, and was recently shortlisted as a finalist in the Guggenheim Museum’s online video competition.
Dandy add, "Biodynamics is a three-tiered spiritual-ethical-ecological approach to agriculture, food production and nutrition, and many biodynamic practitioners work in creative partnerships with other farms and with schools, medical and wellness facilities, restaurants, hotels, homes for social therapy and other organizations." She adds, “If enough of us get behind it, I know we can make the ‘Live 2B Local Project' happen!”    Dandy’s campaign can be found at:
