StreamSend, a leading email marketing service provider and creator of the social marketing tool suite StreamSend Share, outlines the four steps businesses can take to create an automated email campaign that is both easy and effective.

“Faced with so many different choices among email solutions, particularly now that email and social have joined forces, many businesses want to know how tough it is to create email campaigns,” said Dan Forootan, president of StreamSend Email Marketing. “The answer is that it can be easy, if they keep it simple and follow some key steps that let them take advantage of existing technology and solutions. Here are four core steps we use to help guide these businesses into what can be the most cost-effective, relationship-building -- and automatic -- part of their marketing.”

1.    If You Build It, They Will Come
Build the communications piece with a system-ready template. Write it once and it can be emailed, pasted as a tab on a fan page, or embedded in a blog. Then the piece starts doing the work, sharing virally by itself on a mission that businesses can track.

2.    Put Widgets to Work
Don’t expect a response without a call to action, and widgets are the way to get it done.
Use a form widget to automatically sign people up or to offer a coupon, then automatically send the follow-up. Or use an I-frame embedding widget to easily include a survey, blog, or other contact piece within the email or web page. Use a video widget to show entertaining content in place.

3.    Get Smart with Stats
Campaigns should be geared so that statistics become available automatically. These results include the usual, such as who opened, clicked, or shared, but businesses will also want to automatically integrate with Google analytics to further observe trends and behavior that may shape future campaigns.

4.    Socialize
Encourage social engagement by sharing on walls and from tabs. Use automated sharing tools to pass along other offers your audience will like, or share to multiple fan pages.
