Sullivan Street Press continues to innovate as a green e-publisher, as Deborah Emin reveals that Scags at 7 is now available for print using the Espresso Book Machine in Manhattan, New York. Now that both titles in the Scags series are available for print-on-demand, they are accessible for distribution at over 70 bookstore and library locations nationwide.

Deborah will be on the road this summer to promote the Scags series. She will be touring the West and Midwest and documenting the journey on Facebook and on the website http://www.sullivanstpress.com. Sullivan Street Press will utilize social media for the first time as they live blog and share the reactions of strangers as they are asked to read passages from Scags at 7 on the street.

Scags at 7, the first in a four-part series follows Scags, a 7 year old from Skokie, IL, as she tells the story of her summer vacation with her best friend Julia and the plans that fill their summer of 1958. Jonathan Odell (author of The Healing) shares the following comment about Scags at 7, "I fell hard for this child. Emin captured perfectly and oh so believably the thoughts, feelings and perceptions of a seven year old. As a writer, I learned much from this great read! Thanks, Ms. Emin for creating such a gem."

Deborah explains how the Print-on-Demand revolution is going to pave the way for Sullivan Street Press, she says, “POD publishing means no warehousing, no inventory, no transportation, no processing; we’re really going to be able to keep things green and still engage the needs of our readers.”

About Sullivan Street Press: Founded 3 years ago, Sullivan Street Press entered the e-publishing domain in order to change the publishing paradigm. It recognized that for both financial and environmental reasons it was necessary to advocate for the rise of the e-book and the technology that makes all things digital possible. Responding to readers’ concerns, many of whom aren’t yet ready to commit to the e-book revolution, SSP began to have its book published in Print-on-Demand on the Espresso Book Machine at McNally Jackson Books in New York City. Then it reached out to On Demand Books, the parent company of the Espresso Book Machine, to be included in their world wide system of Espresso Book Machines.
