Aicent, a leading provider of IP eXchange (IPX) based mobile data network services for global mobile operators, today announced that it has joined the i3 Forum, a growing community of global operators and service providers dedicated to bringing advanced IP interconnectivity to the rapidly changing voice industry. Aicent brings to the i3 Forum extensive experience and expertise in IP and mobile network interconnectivity, as well as customer insights to help develop service principles and standards that meet market requirements.

"We are very pleased to have Aicent join the i3 Forum as our 47th member. We look forward to their participation and contributions in helping the forum’s community define a core set of recommendations in an effort to effectively expedite the migration to IP-based carrier interconnections on a global level," said Philippe Millet, Chairman, i3 Forum.

As a leader for GRX mobile data roaming exchange networks, Aicent has accumulated considerable knowledge in the design and implementation of IP-based QoS networks for a variety of mobile operator interconnections. This experience will both complement and support the approach of the i3 Forum and their key objective to establish network based QoS for IP voice quality.
