Aarau, Switzerland (PRWEB) June 14, 2012
Digital asset management (DAM) software maker Picturepark® has announced a new webinar series for those interested in learning about digital asset management from industry experts. Rather than focusing on the company’s own products, Picturepark webinars will cover vendor- and software-neutral topics designed to share general digital asset management knowledge as widely as possible.
“No one wants to hear DAM vendors drone on about their software or visions of the future,” said David Diamond, Director of Global Marketing for the Swiss software maker. “People don’t usually assume a vendor can speak from a truly unbiased perspective, but that’s exactly what we plan to do. And if the Swiss can’t do it, who can?”
All are welcome to attend the free events, including competitors, analysts and customers of other DAM vendors.
“We have nothing to hide and everything to share,” Diamond said. “Picturepark webinars will be educational events, not software infomercials.”
The Picturepark webinar series launches on 27 June, 2012 with “DAM Shootout: Cloud vs. Onsite,” webinar that outlines the pros and cons of both DAM deployment models. Featured on the webcast will be Lincoln Howell from communications equipment giant Belden, and Heath Norton from Northern Arizona University. Norton runs an onsite DAM solution at NAU, while Howell’s company chose a Cloud-based system. Picturepark offers DAM solutions that run in the Cloud, onsite and both, so the company has no agenda with regard to content.
Registrations for the “DAM Shootout: Cloud vs. Onsite” webinar are accepted at: https://www4.gotomeeting.com/register/800158487. Those interested in viewing a recording of the event should contact info(at)picturepark(dot)com.
Diamond, author of the digital asset management book “DAM Survival Guide,” and a digital asset management veteran of more than twelve years, will host the series.
Easy-to-use Picturepark digital asset management software is browser-based to work with all popular desktop and mobile platforms, and it’s available in the Cloud (SaaS) or onsite.
All rich media formats are supported, with advanced options available for images, video and layouts. Built-ins include workflow approval and collaboration, multi-language metadata and taxonomies, and multi-tenant capabilities. Digital assets are shared and distributed via email links, website portals and portlets, social media, Dropbox and Sharepoint. A feature-rich API enables Picturepark partners to create add-ons and integrate Picturepark with other systems.
