In his new suspenseful thriller novel “Futures” (published by Abbott Press, May 2012), Edison Carver offers a surprising blend of crime, time travel and romance in a story focusing on the dangers of delving into the past to – whether with good intentions or criminal motivations – change the future.

It is a century into the future, and scientific advancements and research into the energy in the Higgs quantum electromagnetic field have allowed humanity to unlock the secrets of time travel. But not without a cost.

Many time travelers are inexplicably lost when they step back in time. No one understands why these people are missing, or why many other people are returning from the past with wild claims about being from another future or another universe.

In a desperate and risky move, two time travel police offers travel to the past to uncover the truth, and they quickly find themselves exactly where they thought they could never end up – an alternate future world. Their shocking discovery is only eclipsed by the appearance of three powerful, and villainous, beings from the future who have traveled back through time to hide from their own government and wreak havoc on the world. The time traveling officers face incredible odds as they try to keep the futures straight and set things right once again.

“An overarching theme of the book is how close man is to perfecting life in the future, yet has no idea that traveling to the past is doing irreparable harm,” says Carver, about the book. “Man’s arrogance is palpable in every time.”
